Daily Note 19/04/2024 – Market View: Day Ahead, Macro, Stocks, Debt Markets

  • Macro: It was a mixed day for equities yesterday as the EuroStoxx600 finished in the green, whilst in the US the both the Nasdaq and the S&P500 finished in the red, as strong US economic data continued to raise doubts about the timing of rate cuts. Economic Data is light today, however, the FED is releasing a financial stability report for April and Chicago president Goolsbee is participating in a Q&A at 15:30. In addition, ECB Governing Council Member Joachim Nagel and BOE Deputy Governor Dave Ramsden are both set to speak during the day.
  • Stock: Greencoat Renewables: Yesterday, Greencoat Renewables announced the signing of a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (‘PPA’) for its Ballybane Phase 1 wind farm, with Keppel DC REIT.
  • Debt: US treasury yields steadied as the market digested Powell’s comments from yesterday.
