Daily Note 05/04/2024 – Market View: Day Ahead, Macro, Stocks, Debt Markets

  • Macro: It was a mixed session for equity markets yesterday as the EuroStoxx600 ended the day marginally in the green, whilst in the US, both the Nasdaq and the S&P500 reversed early gains to end lower on the day, with investors unnerved about the uncertainty surrounding FED policy. Today, investor attention will be drawn to the US with the non-farm payrolls report to be released at 13:30 (GMT) which is expected to illustrate a softening labour market.
  • Stock: Yesterday, we met the CEO and CFO of Datalex to discuss the company’s recent trading statement for FY23 and to hear about strategy from the recently appointed CEO, who started in November 2023. (Comment Attached)
  • Debt: Treasury yields moved lower yesterday following US jobs data which pointed to a weaker labour market.
