Daily Note 19/02/2025 - Market View: Day Ahead, Macro, Stocks, Debt Markets
- Macro: Following Monday's market holiday, US equities had a modestly positive start to the week yesterday, as the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both fluctuated during the session but finished in the green. In Europe, the Eurostoxx600 also moved slightly higher. Later today, out of the US, MBA mortgage applications will be released at 12:00 and Building permits for January are released at 13:30. We will also have the minutes from the FOMC’s January meeting at 7pm.
- Stock: We have an update on Nike’s partnership with Kim Kardashian’s clothing label, Skims. (Comment attached)
- Debt: Core bond yields moved higher in the US yesterday after the Fed’s Mary Daly pointed to the uncertainty in relation to the scope, magnitude and timing of the new administration's policies.
