Daily Note 27/05/2025 - Market View: Day Ahead, Macro, Stocks, Debt Markets
- Macro: Europe ended higher yesterday with the Stoxx 600 broad index rising 1.0%. US markets were closed for Memorial Day. Later today, we get EU Consumer Confidence, while in the US, we get Durable Goods orders, FHFA House Price Index and Conf. Board Consumer Confidence. From central bankers, Villeroy, Nagel from the ECB and Kashkari from the Fed will be speaking.
- Stock: DCC today announced the launch of its £100m buyback programme which is expected to run until September 30th. (Comment attached)
- Debt: With the US and UK markets closed it was a quiet day in core bond markets, whilst peripheral European markets saw slightly lower yields.
