Cantor Fitzgerald has been serving private clients in Ireland since 1995. We offer advice on individual shares, share portfolios, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), investment trusts and unit trusts for all levels of risk profiles.

We also offer our Analyst Conviction List, a rigorously researched list of equities that we believe will outperform the stock market.

Shares represent ownership in a company or corporation. When you own shares in a company, you effectively own a portion of that company, and these shares can also be known as stocks or equity. When you buy shares, you become a shareholder. The number of shares you own determines your ownership stake in the company. When investing in shares, shareholders may be entitled to dividends from the company. These are a distribution of profits made by the company. Contact our Portfolio Managers to learn more about investing in shares.

Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as an alternative to direct equities

An ETF is an investment fund traded on stock exchanges that provides exposure to a specific sector or geography of the market. ETFs are a cost-effective way to gain broad exposure to different areas of the market without having to hold an individually selected portfolio of single investments. Under EU regulations, we can only buy ETFs that are domiciled in the EU, and these funds are subject to fund exit tax rather than capital gains tax. We have a range of recommendations in this area.
