Daily Note 14/11/2024 – Market View: Day Ahead, Macro, Stocks, Debt Markets

  • Macro: Equity markets were mostly weak yesterday, with the Eurostoxx600 and the Nasdaq posting modest losses, whilst the S&P500 ended flat, despite the inline US CPI print assuaging investor fears for an upside surprise. Later today, at 12:30, the minutes from the ECB October meeting will be published. Out of the US at 12:30, PPI final demand is expected to have accelerated in October, initial jobless claims forecast to remain broadly flat and continuing claims are to increase to the highest level in three years.
  • Stock: We have an update on Aviva’s strong Q3 and 9-month figures. (Comment attached)
  • Debt: Core bond yields were relatively unchanged yesterday in a day of light economic data in Europe and in line CPI from the US.
