Daily Note 17/10/2024 – Market View: Day Ahead, Macro, Stocks, Debt Markets

  • Macro: Equities were mixed yesterday, as the Eurostoxx600 was down slightly, whilst the S&P500 and the Nasdaq were both in the green. In economic news in the day ahead, we have Eurozone CPI at 10:00 and the ECB rate decision at 13:15, while in the US, we have Retail Sales and Initial Jobless claims at 13:30 and Industrial Production at 14:15.
  • Stock: We have updates on Ryanair’s Boeing delivery delays and Nestle’s trading update for the first nine months of the year. (Comment attached)
  • Debt: Core bond yields in Europe were little changed yesterday ahead of today’s ECB rate announcement and UK yields fell following a better CPI print.
