Daily Note 09/04/2024 – Market View: Day Ahead, Macro, Stocks, Debt Markets

  • Macro: It was a mixed start to the week for equity markets yesterday as the EuroStoxx600 ended the day modestly in the green, whilst in the US, the Nasdaq and the S&P500 were both relatively flat, as investors prepared for the start of another earnings season at the end of this week. Looking ahead to today, in another light day of economic data, investor attention will be drawn to the NFIB Small Business Optimism survey out of the US which is expected to show a modest uptick in March relative to February.
  • Stock: IRES REIT has entered into a co-operation agreement with Vision Capital and we are removing ASML from our Analyst Conviction List. (Comments Attached)
  • Debt: US treasury yields moved higher all along the curve yesterday as traders positioned ahead of the key CPI print on Wednesday.
