Daily Note 30/01/2025 - Market View: Day Ahead, Macro, Stocks, Debt Markets
- Macro: It was a mixed session for equity markets yesterday, as the Eurostoxx600 was up slightly, whilst the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ended in the red. Yesterday, the FOMC kept rates unchanged as the market expected. From an economic standpoint today, we have Germany GDP, Eurozone GDP, and the Eurozone Unemployment rate, with the main datapoint, the ECB Interest rate decision at 13:15, when rates are expected to be lowered by 0.25%. In the US, we get Q4 GDP, Initial Jobless Claims and Pending Home Sales MoM for December.
- Stock: We have updates on Microsoft, Roche, and Shell. (Comment attached)
- Debt: Core Bond yields were little changed yesterday as the Fed held rates steady as expected, and ahead of the ECB rate decision later today.
