Cantor Fitzgerald successfully raises €5m by way of EIIS funding for Great Northern Distillery

Cantor Fitzgerald successfully raised €5m by way of EIIS (Employment & Investment Incentive Scheme 2016) funding for Great Northern Distillery Ltd (the company) from our private client base. The funding will be used by the company to lay down new fill whiskey stock for sale in 3 to 4 years time. Great Northern Distillery will mature the new fill whiskey spirit in oak barrels in a bonded warehouse in Greenore for a minimum of 3 years.

Following the successful completion of the Great Northern Distillery in 2015, located on the site of the former Harp Brewery in Dundalk, Co Louth, the distillery is now fully operational and has a capacity to distil the equivalent to 42 million bottles of whiskey per year. The company has successfully distilled malt and grain whiskey for over a year now and generated revenues of €9.4m for the 12 month period to April 2016. Great Northern Distillery is currently casking c.1,000 barrels of 1-day old whiskey every 5 days. In addition to selling 1-day old whiskey to third parties, the company is retaining inventory to sell in 3 to 4 years as mature whiskey and branded own label whiskey.
